February 26, 2026 by el hassan Leave a Comment

Ingredients

  • 2 medium ripe bananas (with brown spots)
  • 2 eggs
  • ½ cup unsweetened almond milk (or milk of choice)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 ½ cups old-fashioned rolled oats (gluten-free if needed)
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • Olive oil or coconut oil, for cooking

Instructions

  1. Blend:
Add bananas, eggs, milk, vanilla, oats, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt to a blender. Blend on high until completely smooth (30–60 seconds). Let batter sit for 2 minutes while heating the pan.
  2. Heat Pan:
Lightly coat a griddle or nonstick skillet with oil and place over medium heat.
  3. Cook:
Pour about ⅓ cup batter per pancake onto the pan. Cook for 2–4 minutes until bubbles form around the edges and bottoms are golden.
  4. Flip:
Flip and cook another 2 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.
  5. Repeat:
Wipe skillet if needed, add more oil, and repeat with remaining batter.

Makes about 9 pancakes (serves 3, 3 pancakes each).

If you’re looking for the easiest healthy pancake recipe ever, these Healthy Banana Oatmeal Pancakes are it. Everything goes right into the blender — no flour, no added sugar, no complicated steps — just simple, wholesome ingredients that turn into fluffy, naturally sweet pancakes in minutes.

They’ve been a reader favorite for years (and even made it into my cookbook!) because they’re that good. Soft, tender, and lightly sweet from ripe bananas, these pancakes are perfect for busy mornings, meal prep, and even little ones.

Why You’ll Love These Pancakes

  • Made entirely in the blender
  • No flour and no added sugar
  • Naturally gluten-free and dairy-free
  • Packed with 12g of protein per serving
  • Freezer-friendly for easy breakfasts

They’re wholesome enough for everyday mornings but delicious enough to feel like a treat.

Simple Ingredients

You only need a handful of pantry staples:

  • Ripe bananas (the spottier, the sweeter)
  • Eggs
  • Unsweetened almond milk (or any milk you like)
  • Vanilla extract
  • Rolled oats (use gluten-free if needed)
  • Baking powder
  • Cinnamon
  • Salt
  • Olive oil or coconut oil for cooking

The bananas provide natural sweetness, while the oats replace traditional flour and give the pancakes structure and heartiness.

How to Make Banana Oatmeal Pancakes

  1. Blend
Add all ingredients (except oil) to a blender and blend until completely smooth. Let the batter sit for about 2 minutes while your pan heats up.
  2. Cook
Lightly grease a griddle or nonstick pan and heat over medium. Pour about 1/3 cup batter per pancake.
  3. Flip
Cook for 2–4 minutes until bubbles form around the edges and the bottoms are golden. Flip and cook another 2 minutes.
  4. Serve
Top with fresh fruit, nut butter, yogurt, or a drizzle of pure maple syrup.

Tips for Perfect Pancakes

  • Lower the heat if they brown too quickly.
  • If your pan starts smoking, it’s too hot.
  • Letting the batter rest helps the oats absorb moisture and thicken slightly.

Customize Them

Mix-ins:
Fold in chocolate chips, chopped nuts, or extra banana slices after blending.

Toppings:
Try peanut butter, almond butter, yogurt, fresh berries, pecans, or a drizzle of maple syrup.

Make mini pancakes:
Use 1–2 tablespoons of batter for smaller, kid-friendly pancakes.

Keeping Them Warm

Place cooked pancakes on a baking sheet in a 200°F oven until ready to serve.

Freezer-Friendly

These freeze beautifully. Let them cool, freeze in a single layer for 30 minutes, then transfer to a freezer-safe bag. Reheat in the microwave for 30–60 seconds.

Whether you’re making them for a quick weekday breakfast, post-workout fuel, or stocking your freezer for busy mornings, these banana oatmeal pancakes are simple, nourishing, and absolutely delicious.
