Hamburger Supreme Casserole

Hamburger Supreme Casserole is the ultimate comfort food, combining seasoned ground beef, tender pasta, and a rich, creamy cheese sauce. This hearty, satisfying dish is perfect for busy weeknights or cozy family dinners. With its layers of flavor and golden, bubbly top, this casserole will quickly become a favorite in your meal rotation!


Equipment Needed:

  • Large skillet
  • Large pot
  • Mixing bowls
  • 9×13-inch baking dish
  • Wooden spoon or spatula
  • Whisk

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 8 oz egg noodles (or preferred pasta)
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes, drained
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese, divided
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)

Instructions:

1. Cook the Pasta:

  • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
  • Cook the egg noodles according to the package instructions until al dente.
  • Drain and set aside.

2. Prepare the Ground Beef:

  • In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef, diced onion, and minced garlic.
  • Stir and break up the beef with a spoon, cooking until the meat is browned and the onions are soft (about 6-8 minutes).
  • Drain excess fat from the skillet.

3. Season the Beef:

  • Stir in Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper.
  • Add the drained diced tomatoes and cook for 2-3 minutes to blend the flavors.
  • Remove from heat.

4. Make the Creamy Sauce:

  • In a mixing bowl, whisk together the cream of mushroom soup and sour cream until smooth.

5. Assemble the Casserole:

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a 9×13-inch baking dish, layer half of the cooked egg noodles.
  • Spread half of the beef mixture over the noodles, followed by half of the creamy sauce.
  • Sprinkle 3/4 cup of shredded cheddar cheese on top.
  • Repeat the layers with the remaining noodles, beef, sauce, and cheese.
  • Finish by sprinkling the Parmesan cheese over the top.

6. Bake the Casserole:

  • Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 20 minutes.
  • Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

7. Garnish and Serve:

  • Let the casserole rest for a few minutes before serving.
  • Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.
  • Serve hot and enjoy!
