Crispy Ground Beef Tacos

November 1, 2025 by el hassan Leave a Comment

When it comes to quick and satisfying dinners, these Crispy Ground Beef Tacos are a total weeknight win! They’re crunchy, cheesy, and packed with classic taco flavor — all ready in just 35 minutes using only six simple ingredients.

Whether you dip them in salsa, guacamole, or queso, every bite delivers that perfect blend of crunch, spice, and melted cheese.

Why You’ll Love These Tacos

  • Quick & Easy: Dinner on the table in about 35 minutes — perfect for busy nights.
  • Just 6 Ingredients: Ground beef, taco seasoning, enchilada sauce, cheese, tortillas, and olive oil.
  • Crispy & Fun to Eat: Baked until golden and perfect for dipping.
  • Family Favorite: Simple ingredients, big flavor — even picky eaters love them!
  • Customizable: Use your favorite cheese or swap in chicken or turkey for the beef.

Ingredients You’ll Need

  • Ground Beef: Lean 90% ground beef works best, no draining required. Ground chicken or turkey also work.
  • Taco Seasoning: Use your favorite store-bought mix or homemade seasoning blend.
  • Red Enchilada Sauce: Adds flavor and moisture — store-bought or homemade.
  • Cheese: Oaxaca cheese melts beautifully, but Monterey Jack, cheddar, or a Mexican blend are great too.
  • Corn Tortillas: Classic flavor and texture! If using flour tortillas, reduce bake time by 4–6 minutes.
  • Olive Oil: Helps the tortillas crisp up in the oven. Avocado or vegetable oil works too.

How to Make Crispy Beef Tacos

Step 1 | Cook the Beef
In a skillet over medium-high heat, brown the ground beef, breaking it up as it cooks. Stir in taco seasoning and enchilada sauce. Simmer for a few minutes until thickened, then remove from heat.

Step 2 | Warm the Tortillas
Wrap the tortillas in a damp paper towel and microwave for 30–60 seconds, just until pliable. Brush one side of each tortilla with olive oil.

Step 3 | Assemble the Tacos
Place tortillas, oiled side down, on a baking sheet. Add a layer of cheese on one side, spoon on the taco meat, and top with more cheese. Fold the tortilla over the filling.

Step 4 | Bake Until Crispy
Bake at 450°F for 16 minutes, flipping halfway if needed, until golden and crisp. Let cool for 2–3 minutes before serving.

Helpful Tips

  • Warm tortillas well before folding to prevent cracks. If needed, secure with toothpicks while baking.
  • Avoid foil: Bake directly on a nonstick or ceramic sheet pan for best results.
  • Customize it: Add refried beans, sautéed peppers, or diced jalapeños for extra flavor.

Make-Ahead Freezer Option

These tacos freeze beautifully!

  1. Assemble as directed (skip the oil).
  2. Freeze in a single layer on a baking sheet for 1 hour.
  3. Transfer to a freezer-safe bag.
  4. To cook, preheat oven to 400°F, brush with oil, and bake for 18–22 minutes until crispy.

Topping & Dip Ideas

  • Toppings: Fresh cilantro, chopped lettuce, diced tomatoes, or sliced avocado.
  • Dips: Salsa, queso, or creamy guacamole — all are delicious!
  • Sides: Spanish rice, refried beans, or Mexican street corn pair perfectly.

Storage

Store leftover tacos in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven or air fryer to bring back that crispy texture.
