Cool Whip Candy Recipe

This easy-to-make Cool Whip Candy is a showstopper! With just three ingredients, you’ll create a luscious treat that’s perfect for holiday gifts, party platters, or a sweet indulgence for yourself. It’s rich, chocolatey, and irresistibly creamy!

Ingredients

  • 2 packages (11 oz each) milk chocolate morsels
  • 1 tub (8 oz) Cool Whip, thawed
  • 24 oz Ghirardelli dark chocolate melting wafers

Instructions

  1. Melt the Chocolate Chips:
    In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the milk chocolate morsels for 1 minute. Stir and microwave again for 30 seconds. Stir until smooth. If needed, microwave for an additional 15 seconds. Let the melted chocolate cool to room temperature, about 20 minutes.
  2. Prepare the Baking Dish:
    Line an 8-inch square baking dish with parchment paper and set it aside.
  3. Combine Cool Whip and Chocolate:
    In a large bowl, gently fold the cooled, melted chocolate into the Cool Whip. It’s normal for the chocolate to harden into small bits as you mix. Keep folding until everything is fully combined. Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish.
  4. Freeze and Cut:
    Freeze the mixture for 30 minutes. Remove from the freezer and cut it into 36 squares. Arrange the candy pieces on a parchment-lined baking sheet and return to the freezer for at least another 30 minutes.
  5. Melt Chocolate Wafers:
    Melt the dark chocolate wafers according to the package instructions.
  6. Dip the Candy:
    Remove the candy squares from the freezer and dip each one into the melted chocolate. Place them back on the parchment-lined sheet and allow them to set.
  7. Store and Serve:
    Store the candy in the freezer until ready to serve. These are best enjoyed cold and can be stored for up to 30 days.

  • Truffle Variation: For a fun twist, shape the Cool Whip and chocolate mixture into truffles. Drop by the tablespoon onto parchment paper, freeze for an hour, then dip into melted chocolate wafers.
