Apple Pie Filling Coffee Cake

This simple and delicious coffee cake is the perfect blend of soft, spiced cake and sweet apple topping. With just one bowl and a few steps, you can create a delightful treat for breakfast or dessert!

Ingredients

For the Cake

  • 1 package white cake mix (2-layer size)
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 can (21 oz) apple pie filling

For the Glaze

  • 1 cup confectioners’ sugar
  • 1 to 1 1/2 tablespoons milk

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Cake Batter:
    In a large mixing bowl, combine the cake mix, cinnamon, sour cream, eggs, and water. Mix with an electric mixer until the batter is smooth and well combined.
  2. Assemble the Cake:
    Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish and pour the batter into it, spreading evenly. Spoon the apple pie filling over the top, covering the entire surface.
  3. Bake:
    Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the cake for 40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  4. Make the Glaze:
    In a small bowl, whisk together the confectioners’ sugar and milk until smooth. Adjust the milk to reach your desired consistency.
  5. Finish and Serve:
    Once the cake has cooled slightly, drizzle the glaze over the top. Slice and serve for a comforting and flavorful treat!
